Crave to Save (not smoke!)

Remember that dollar amount you figured you spent on cigarettes each day? Well, now you're going to save it instead of spending it on cigarettes. You'll be amazed how quickly it adds up!

Start A Commit to Quit Savings Jar

Decide what you want to do with the money you will save. I suggest choosing something for yourself as a “reward” for quitting, but you may choose whatever you like. Next, decide when you want to spend it – pick a date. You may decide to save the money for one month before spending it, or you may chose to save it for an entire year! It’s completely up to you.

Create a “Commit to Quit” Savings jar label. Write down the “reward” you have chosen and the date you will reward yourself. Next, find a clear jar to keep your savings in. Tape your “Commit to Quit” savings jar label to the outside of the jar and set the jar on the kitchen counter or somewhere where you will see it often. Now, each day, place the dollar amount you would have spent on cigarettes that day in the jar. When you've reached the date indicated on the label, spend away! Replace the label with a new one each time you spend the money.

Congratulations for making today the first day of the rest of your long, healthy, non-smoking life!
