Question: What is Chronic Cough?

Answer: A cough is considered to be chronic when it lasts longer than 2-3 weeks.

What Happens When You Cough

The closed glottis causes a the pressure within the lungs to increase. When the glottis opens, the air within the lungs is forced out through the respiratory tract, expelling any mucus, particles or objects within the airways. (Read more about the respiratory system)
